  • A Little over a Month...

Hello Xanga-ers....it's been a while since I've last written...needless to say I suppose you could say I've been a little busy with finals, and then with the start of summer school which has ended.  Let me give you an idea of how it went...after the first two days we had our first lab practical...WOW...I was a little taken aback but I tried my hardest and got a B on it.  Which surprised me.  But after that great grade...it kind of went downhill.  The second week of summer school is what one could only describe it as "Hell Week."  This is the week that will make or break you, and your grade.  A lecture test Monday, lab practical Tuesday, Lecture test Thursday, and Lab Practical Friday.  Needless to say I made it through that...and our toughest HARDEST test was the Muscle test which I only studied one day for.  So my days basically went as follows: Wake up at 6am, get to school 730, lab 8-1050, lectures 11-1250, come home, eat, take a shower, and study until bedtime.  Was it healthy?  Probably not, there came a time where I realized I kind of stopped eating.  I ended up with a C...which isn't what I wanted...and I was definitely disappointed in myself for it, but to take the edge off it was my First time with this kind of material, and it was A LOT to learn in 3 weeks.  I may just take it again during the semester...not next...but one of these semesters.  I'm just not happy with it.

Ok, so with my summer officially here the first thing was a Road Trip.  My mom, friend, and I headed off to The Hills...L.A...Hollywood, whatever you want to call it.  We went for Lauren Conrad's book signing at The Grove in Barnes and Noble.  It was one of the best trips ever.  Not only did I get my book signed and met Lauren...I also met Ross Mathews...HELLO!!!  To top that off...my friend and I were on his show on the net.  OMG!  I freaked out...definitely made the trip THAT much better. We also went to see all the tourist like sites: Hollywood sign, Chinese Theater, Venice Beach, etc.  I had a LOAD of fun!!!  We stayed at the Farmer's Daughter hotel...so overall it was really a GREAT trip that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Now with no studying needed and no real road trips planned, it's hard to figure out what's next.  I'm currently looking for a place to work on some of my shadowing hours, and have emailed one place who didn't respond back...oh well.  Lets see...I want to head out to the UFC Expo in Vegas, but I don't think I'll find anyone who's willing to go with me.  Oh well...there goes my bright idea huh?  Tomorrow's Father's Day and my sister's coming over for a little bbq foodage.  Umm...what else???

Oh the Fifa Confederation Cup has been going on...and I can't help my love for soccer players haha.  Lets just say I became a fan of Spain :p  Ok...maybe for all the wrong reasons lol.  Well...I'm wathing the Ultimate Fighter finale right now, so hopefully from the time that goes to the time throughout summer...I will have done some pretty cool things...here's to hoping!!!

  • Some Upcoming Events!

So the Spring Semester is finally almost over!  and WOW!  It went by incredibly fast!  At least to me it did.  I still remember the first day for each of my classes which tells me...to me...it felt like just yesterday.  I think it's kind of funny how some people seem to come out of their shell during the last couple of weeks of class.  I think I talked to more people towards the end of the semester than at the beginning, and sadly it feels like I missed out on getting to know some cool peeps!  But nonetheless, I made some friends along the way as well, and overall...Spring Semester has treated me well.  So now, I'm gearing up for finals which begin Tuesday for me...then go till Thursday. O Joy!  First final will be my ASL class, then HS, then Kines/Geog on Thursday, then Friday...nothing.
The weekend coming up, my mom and I are planning on heading up north for my cousin's graduation, then possibly staying the night and spending a day in San Fran...ALTHOUGH I'm now thinking maybe next next weekend will work out better.  That way we get more of a full Day in San Fran...or maybe not...Oy.

Also on the 30th...apparently Gabe Bondoc is performing in San Fran which would be a lovely thing to see!!!  So maybe that'll work out!  OH!  and UFC 98 happens to be next Saturday and that's a good card: Machida vs. Evans!  C'mon!  Busy weekends!

Oh, and Summer doesn't start for me until June 12th because I have summer school.  I'm taking Anatomy...it's only three weeks, which is the good thing.  The bad thing...well it's anatomy haha.  Just have to apply myself to some good ol' memorization and studying...it sounds lovely haha.

This Tuesday I'm going to see STOMP!  I'm excited, just thought I'd that in.

Espana 2010, and POSSIBLY...Italy as well.  I'm definitely excited if that's the case!  Here's to hoping.

Well...that's all I felt like updating...so i'm off to finish My Big Fat Greek Wedding!

  • Family Fight Night!!

Tonight was fam fight night for UFC 97...fam fight night usually consists of sister coming over with nick and then food haha.  Overall, tonight's fights sucked.  It appears everyone's thinking Chuck's done, and sadly Shogun Rua knocked him out.  It's sad watching the Ice Man go down... :(  Dana White bugs me too...everyone should know this...he thinks he's the shiz.  He's just a bigger version on Andre Agassi to me haha.  Although I credit him for bringing this sport to light.  Anyways, Anderson Silva had no problem beating Leites.  Freakin Thales didn't do anything except lay on his back.  ERR!!!  So annoying!  But Silva's sidekicks to his knees looked painful.  I kept thinking if Leites had his leg straight and then Silva threw on, BAM there goes the meniscus, or ACL/PCL.  Yikes.  Anyways, it all sucked!  I'm started to think I shouldn't even be paying 45 freakin dollars for these.  Of course, I'll be buying the Machida/Evans fight cause Machida's the shiz.  And although i'm not much of a gamer at all, I am excited that UFC is coming out with another game...which I'll be purchasing and probably only play once hahah.  Oh well.

Overall, I had fun hanging with the fam and my friend :)  But the entertainment part, not so great.  I'm cutting this short just cause I'm sleepy.  So until next time folks!

Why is it so hot today?!  Ugh!

  • Easter Weekend Randoms

Today marks my yearly tradition around Easter time.  To watch to classics: The Sound of Music and the Ten Commandments.  Both are equally movie classics....figuratively and literally!  haha.  The Sound of Music has been my favorite movie since I was little, maybe it all started my love for musicals...i'm not sure.  Either way, I love singing along...ya I'm a dork, this I know!  As for the Ten Commandments, I honestly have no idea why I like this movie.  I think I first saw it in Sixth grade...or maybe it was Eighth, after that when I found out they play it during Easter I started watching it, and it has become somewhat a tradition of mine.  Weird, yes...but what can I say?  haha.  Just my luck they happen to be playing at the same time haha.  I don't even know why I wrote about this, this is borderline embarrassing to admit to the public...jkjk.  Anyhoots, if you celebrate Easter time, then Happy Easter!!!

  • WNBA Draft

I guess it's already that time again for the WNBA.  I know a lot of people out there could simply care less, but this is how it is for me...NCAA ---> WNBA.  That makes a full year for Shayne!  So yes, i'm transitioning right now haha.  It's time to switch it from my Bulldogs and Huskies to my Monarchs, granted I'm really excited to see Chicago...Sylvia Fowles + Candice Dupree = Tough haha.

So the First Round Draft Picks are as follows:

    1.Angel McCoughtry - Atlanta Dream
    2. Marissa Coleman - Washington Mystics
    3. Kristi Toliver - Chicago Sky
    4. Renee Montgomery - Minnesota Lynx
    5. Dewanna Bonner - Phoenix Mercury
    6. Briann January - Indiana Fever
    7. Courtney Paris - Sacramento Monarchs
    8. Kia Vaughn - New York Liberty
    9. Quanitra Hollingsworth - Minnesota Lynx
    10. Chante Black - Connecticut Sun
    11. Shavonte Zellous - Detroit Shock
    12. Ashley Walker - Seattle Storm
    13. Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton - Los Angeles Sparks

Overall concerning Sacramento I'm definitely pleased.  I think Courtney Paris is a great pick up for Sac.  I've always thought we lacked a strong Center, and now we picked up a good one.  Although I'm not sure about the 1 spot because of the trade of A'Quonisia Franklin.  I was surprised Renee didn't go earlier, and yes I had hoped she show up in a Monarchs uniform cause that would be icing on the cake for me!  So it looks like i'll be heading to some Minny games to see her play!  I'm excited overall.  It's funny though for as much as I feel like I follow basketball, throughout most of the draft I was sitting there saying, "Who?" when the prospects were getting picked haha.  Shows how much I know!  So here's to looking for a great WNBA season, hopefully Sac finds themselves in a better spot and with some trades and such it looks like I'll be having a few teams I'll be rooting for this season.  But Sac will always be my number 1.  Hopefully soon there will be a pick of me and Courtney Paris, Renee Montgomery, and some others coming soon!
